(Farm Economics: Issue #5, 2002) This is a brief overview of current tax-sham schemes that are marketed by various tax protestor groups. All have proven unsuccessful and have caused great financial hardship on people who enter in such tax avoidance schemes. This article covers the more popular schemes and what to avoid.

Analyzing Investment with Uncertain Returns: The Case of Robotic Milkers 

(Farm Economics: Issue #1, 2003) Adoption of robotic milking technology is subject to a great deal of uncertainty related to milk price, production, labor costs, etc. This issue reports the results of research on adoption of this technology. The results show that robotic milking technology can be a profitable choice for many Pennsylvania farmers.

Climate Change and Pennsylvania Agriculture 

(Farm Economics: Issue #2, 2001) Due to global climate change, average temperatures in the U.S. could increase 5-9° F by the year 2100. Changes in climate of this magnitude would be unmatched since the last Ice Age and could have a profound impact on world agriculture. Agriculture has always had a very close relationship with climate. This article examines how climate change may affect Pennsylvania agriculture. The article also explores other forces likely to be shaping Pennsylvania agriculture during the 21st century.
